Constructivism Theory

Constructivism

Constructivism is a theory related to the construction of knowledge, learners construct their own knowledge rather than just taking information. Also, this theory establishes some strategies to create a meaningful context that helps students construct knowledge based on their own experiences.
Students in this theory practice skills such as reasoning and problem-solving. Moreover, the activities that can be done are Role-plays, projects, simulating events, groups, and engaging in real-world activities.
The activities mentioned before are not easy to develop online but this blog includes some shared documents where participants have the opportunity to look at others' answers and also videos or games that they can play together to share ideas and construct their own knowledge.

Benefits

The benefits of constructivism are that students learn because they are involved in the activities, also they analyze and have the correct scaffolding to achieve their goals. Besides that, the use of realia in the class contributes to motivating the students and improving their understanding and acquisition of vocabulary.
